1. 23 Powerful Marketing and Branding Tips for Your Home Based Business

23 Powerful Marketing and Branding Tips Geared to Drive in More Traffic and Revenue

1. Marketing 101: Develop a powerful and compelling core message. “Say something, say it well, say it often.” Why should customers buy from you? Why should they even take a second glance? You need to build a powerful message that gets key points across without clutter … because clutter is what leads to abandonment. Although this is the essence of a successful branding and marketing campaign, you’d be surprised how many companies fail to grasp this concept.

2. Make sure your core message is “benefit oriented.” People don’t buy services or products, they buy the benefits of those services or products. In all your communications, make sure your message translates into specific benefits.

3. Make sure your initial message directs prospects toward a specific action. Your customers want to be told where to go to find the solutions they seek. This should be abundantly clear to all four major personality groups (Amiables, Drivers, Expressives, and Analyticals). When you invite customers to go somewhere to learn how to interact with your site and find out more about your company, you can greatly increase your potential for conversions.

4. Develop imagery that enhances your message and intrigues your target audience. The images on your site should enhance your message by being visually stimulating. Sometimes this may only be an aesthetic; other times it may involve “timelining” imagery and content together to use space more effectively and get across a message in a more distinctive fashion.

5. Develop a unique value proposition (UVP). Sit down with a branding or marketing expert and define a UVP for your company as a reminder of your competitive advantages. Make sure these advantages are customer-centric, not business-centric.

6. Incorporate your UVP into all online and off-line media for brand consistency and saturation. Make sure your message constantly reiterates your competitive benefits and your UVP. You never know which aspect of your brand a prospect might respond to, so make sure the message is consistently broadcast in whatever media you use.

7. Tell customers what they want to hear, not what you want to tell them. We call this inside-out marketing. Too often, companies unknowingly focus on what they want to say, rather than what customers want to hear. An outside-in perspective with a true 360° view of your company from the customer’s viewpoint is best accomplished with the help of a qualified branding and marketing firm that can determine customers’ attitudes, expectations, and requirements.

8. Build value … not boredom. I leave this one to Napoleon Hill: “It is as useless to try to sell a man something until you have first made him want to listen as it would be to command the earth to stop rotating” (Think and Grow Rich)

9.Lead with a header and close with a call to action. Readers are much more likely to read your message, white papers, case studies, etc., if you pique their interest or curiosity through well-written headers, transition headers, body content, and calls to action that lead to the next step in a sales cycle.

10. “SCAN I AM.” Today’s readers don’t read, they scan. They scan for areas of interest, offers, links to relevant information, etc. So it is important to set up your text so that it can be quickly scanned. Online text is not linear like a book; it’s interactive to follow users’ nonlinear demands.

11. Develop a branding “blueprint” that … shows clearly how you expect prospects to interact with your messages. This blueprint should start with an outline and show all paths from all forms of communication and how they lead to firm sales. Again, marketing and branding professionals can help develop a plan.

12. Evaluate your plan. Have others evaluate your plan. Re-evaluate and adjust. No plan is perfect, and any plan should be constantly adjusted to maximize its effectiveness. It is critical to continually audit your branding plan and all your marketing media.

13. Re-evaluate again.

14. Adjust your blueprint … to adapt to the market, trends, technologies, customer demands, etc. Review quarterly. Every successful brand in the world is optimized regularly. Branding is an ongoing effort, not a one-time occurrence. Finish reading, visit here.

Avoiding Home Based Business Scams

Planning on starting your own home based business? Want to work from home, making money online? Always do your research on Google. As you may already be aware, not all home based business opportunities are for real. There are may work at home scams out there, being advertised everyday and you need to be careful. Every real business opportunity requires hard work, time and effort on your part to become successful. There's no way you can make money just by signing up for a program and then sitting back and relaxing.

If a business opportunity requires you to send in a payment of any kind just to learn more about the business, that's another sign of a scam. A legitimate business never requires money in return for information. Finish reading, visit here.

Unless you go the PPC route and pay for your traffic, SEO or Search Engine Optimization will play a major role in the success or failure of your website. Therefore, it’s in your best interest as a webmaster to learn everything you can about SEO and use the right SEO tools to achieve an advantage over your competition.

Needless to say, SEO or getting high rankings for your keywords is extremely competitive, especially for popular lucrative keyword phrases which bring in the big bucks. You must be at the top of your game if you want to compete.

You’re probably asking yourself how can the little guy compete against such stiff competition? Well, it is not as difficult as you might think or believe. For starters, you can use some simple SEO tools which will help give you a slight advantage if you use them properly.

Surprisingly, all of these SEO tools are free and any webmaster can take advantage of them in their ongoing SEO endeavors. I believe all webmasters must learn and master SEO in order to succeed online or get someone else to do it for them. Finish reading, visit here.

9. Creating A Search Engine Copywriting Plan

Creating A Search Engine Copywriting Plan

Search engine copywriting has become an extremely important part of the overall search engine optimization process. However, in addition, search engine copywriting has developed into a misunderstood craft.

Shoving keywords in anywhere they can possibly go is not considered search engine copywriting. The process is more defined than that. Successful SEO copywriting takes planning. Any half-hearted efforts at writing copy geared strictly toward the engines will usually result in a decline in your customer's experience at your site.

What's the best way to write SEO copy? Starting with a plan is always a good idea. Keep in mind, these are guidelines of techniques that can be used *IF* they make sense for your site visitors. I never recommend writing solely for the search engines. In the case of search engine copywriting, the customer is truly #1.

1) Use Three Keyphrases Per Page - Not a carved-in-stone rule, the guideline of three keyphrases per page gives good variety and helps keep the copy from sounding too repetitive. I always choose keyphrases first - before I write - because they can have a direct impact on the focus of the page.

2) Have 250 or More Words of Copy - The length of your copy depends on several things: Your target customer's preferred communication style, whether the product is new to the marketplace, if a detailed explanation needs to be given, site design and many other factors. However, the 250-word minimum gives enough room to get your message across and offer an effective level of keyword support. Remember though, it's all about the customer. If your target customers prefer longer copy, write longer copy. If they like shorter copy, write shorter copy. Finish reading, visit here.

10. The Effectiveness of Empty Space

Here's a very interesting article I found while reading the EntireWeb Newsletter. Thought I post it...Food for thought...

The Effectiveness of an Empty Space
There are so many facets of ad design that get hammered home in article after article. Everyone is telling you how to maximize your headline's impact and how to make your font stand out amid a sea of marketing.

So much time is spent on what should go into your ad that we sometimes neglect one of the most important and eye catching elements, the empty spaces.

This is really one of the simplest, but easiest to mess up, factors of your print design. Have you ever listened to a song like the Who's "Wont Get Fooled Again" or similar songs that build up to a crescendo then suddenly have a break in the music before kicking the guitars back into overdrive? That empty space in the music is powerful.

It can give you goose bumps and it can make a whole room feel electric. When the music starts again and breaks that moment of silence, the notes sound louder and more powerful as a result. This isn't a trick that is reserved only for musicians. The same principle applies to ad design (or any sort of design, for that matter). Finish reading...Visit here.

18. Promotional Article Writing, Six Points You Must Know

Promotional Article Writing, Six Points You Must Know

I’m sure most of you are aware of the marketing power of a well-written promotional article about your industry or home based business. A compelling and educational article on your audience’s topic of interest will drive traffic to your website and increase customer confidence in your expertise. Best of all, it requires no investment aside from your time and effort.

But where do you start? The following quick tips (presented in chronological order) should serve you well in starting out upon this method of online advertising. All of these points could be several pages in themselves, but this should give you a good overview of the process.

Think of an Article Topic
Write what you know about, first and foremost. Brainstorm topics of which you have specific knowledge. It doesn’t have to be something obvious either. Write about a recent challenge your company faced and how you overcame it. Write about an interesting situation that you know is a common problem in your industry but that is not often addressed. Don’t be afraid to present yourself or your company as imperfect, or as facing challenges. You will come across as genuine, conscientious and as a striver for perfection in your field.

For instance, one of the articles I plan to write in the next few weeks will be about our video production company’s work on a forklift training video. It was the first industrial training video our company had done, and I plan on laying out our specific challenges and what we learned from the process. Of course I will include the fact that the customer was very happy with the finished product, but I will also express the worries and difficulties we had along the way. (Also make sure you get permission from your clients if you plan to mention them specifically in the article.)

Keyword Research
If you’ve done any work on doing search engine optimization for your website, producing an effective web article is quite similar. Finish reading, click here.

Others are content earning extra dollars a month part time. In either case, making money online is a much sought after topic in today's society. Think about it, if you could stay at home and make money, who wouldn't be interested?

The problem is that too many people believe they can jump on the computer, connect to the internet and begin making money. A home based business and internet marketing takes time and effort before seeing the money flow in on a consistent basis, especially when first starting out. Too many think that internet marketing is as easy as making toast. They think that with just a couple clicks, the money will start pouring in. With all the ads and websites out there claiming that they can help you to earn a thousands in just a short few weeks, everyone looking for any opportunity will have this same thinking, so who's accountible?

The first thing to achieve massive success in your internet home based business is to accept the facts and truth that you have to spend effort and time to make the money. Finish reading, click here.

20. Working from Home? How to Create a Perpetual Traffic Machine

The Internet is such an unknown commodity anything is possible. One of the most intriguing questions in any home based business or marketing online, concerns the idea of a perpetual traffic machine. Create a website and design a system of automatic programs (both interior and exterior) that delivers content and backlinks to a site that updates itself automatically and keeps growing without any help from the creator. In the process you build a flow of traffic that never stops, even if the site is abandoned or not touched for a couple of years or never again.

Is such a perpetual traffic system really possible?

Before you conjure up pictures of HAL and creepy talking computers in distant space... realize that question may carry more weight than it would seem at first glance. But is it like its predecessor, the perpetual motion machine - just more an illusion than actual fact?

Let's say, working from home and for curiosity's sake if for nothing else, the idea of a perpetual traffic machine does require further investigation. Such a system would have special interest for millions of webmasters whose main task is acquiring traffic for their sites, not to mention the potential for monetary gain a PTM (rhymes with ATM) would produce. Some credence was given to the idea recently when Tinu Abayomi-Paul, a well-known online free traffic expert, produced with the help of Marlon Sanders an info-product entitled "The Evergreen Traffic Machine."

Tinu's story is very interesting. Tinu had built up a whole array of sites and optimized them successfully for countless keywords in all the major search engines. She had built up a steady flow of traffic, resulting in thousands of visitors "a day" to her sites. This in itself is not that extraordinary, but that's not the full story.

Here's the full story...visit here.

21. Working From Home, It's Not That Complicated

When someone decides to put a website on the internet, related to their work from home business, in the beginning, everyone thinks..."okay, this is excellent! People are going to rush to my site from all over, start buying, and I'll be good to go in no time". Well, really, it just doesn't happen like this.

Why not? What happened?

Well, guess what, just like anything else in life, you need to follow certain guidelines, certain rules to assure your internet marketing success. It's not easy, not by a long shot. Having your own home based business takes alot of determination, hard work and a positive attitude. The money doesn't start flowing in in just a week of having your new site up on the internet. As a wonderful mentor of mine always says, " The more you learn, the more you learn".

What are some guidelines? Visit here to find out.

22. Finding That Scam Free Work from Home Opportunity

There are so many Internet and work at home opportunities out there today that it’s hard to believe that there is anything promising or legitimate. I'm sure you have run into hundreds of sites and emails that promising to make you rich overnight. However after a closer look, you realize these ads are full of more you know what than a fertilizer factory! It certainly can be very frustrating and even discouraging.

Never fear! There are always a few good apples in bunch of rotten ones. When looking for home business opportunity it’s always a good idea to do your research on Google. And believe me, it’s not as hard as it may seem. Google is not intimidating and is your friend. It’s one of the best search engines out there and it really is a great investigative tool for Internet and work from home scams. Here's what to do:

Go to the search box and type in the company’s name or website address and then scams. You will then be able to make an informed decision and decide which work from home opportunity you would like to get involved with.

One quick note, the 200 per Day Blueprint business is not a scam. It's a wonderful opportunity which is allowing it's many members to make money online. For more information, visit here.

When reading these reviews, read carefully and form your own opinion. Many times people will make complaints just because they never made any money. This does not mean scam. Just because a person didn't make any money it could just mean they didn't have what it takes or that they just chose not to do the work. Making money on the internet, especially when first starting out, is hard work and takes alot of effort. If you really want it, then go for it. Work at it and in time, start living success.  It's not always that the opportunity is a scam.

Ask questions, search out people to contact and speak to directly. Most times on a legitimate site or even in an email you can find contact information. I strongly suggest contacting someone and asking questions or sharing your concerns with them. If you don't like the answers, well then, decide against that opportunity. If you get some truthful answers which are backed up with statistics, or other people's contact that you can talk with as well, this may just be what you are looking for. Give it a shot, but remember, make that commitment.

24. Starting a Home Based Business

In today's economy, working from home and making money at home
seem to be the main focus of many, many people. As the prices
of gas, food and basically everything are going up, it seems
that salaries are staying the same. Raises seem to be a non
issue anymore. People are turning to their computers and
attempting to start a home based business.

Where do I start? How do I find an honest and legit work from
home job? There are many questions. The first thing you must
do is have a plan - a plan of action. If no plan is implemented
first, then most likely the end result will be failure. What do
you want to do? What is it you like to do? Then do your research.
What is it that people want? What are they looking for. It makes
no sense to get involved in a home based business that offers
something that not many people want or need. You can become an
affiliate marketer and sell other people's products, or you can
create your own product to market and start up your home business.
Take the time to do your research on Google.

The there is the financial considerations. How much money are you
able to put aside for starting up your business? A financial plan
should be put in place. Many people just sit down at their
computers and and decide they are going to make money online today!
It doesn't work that way. It takes alot of planning and research
to start with any home based business.

Getting involved with the right group of people is a major factor
as well. There are many internet marketers that are shysters. They
will attempt to get you involved, take your money and then you
will never hear from them again. Google their names, find out what
you can. People that are honest and successful will be there, with
full support and mentoring.

Working from home and making money online can be prosperous and
fun. But it takes alot of discipline and hard work. The desire to
succeed must be there, and all else will fall right into place.
