You heard me talking about Integrated Marketing. You have heard me say that Automated Marketing is misleading to most. Really? An autoresponder is automated marketing. A mini URL redirect is automated marketing. Filling out an online form is also automated marketing. A WordPress blog is a form of automated marketing. Just about anything related to sales and awareness on the Internet in one way or another can be classified as one form or another of automated marketing.

But most people think 'automated marketing' is a simple pushbutton system that does all the work and builds a business for you, also pitched as 'pushbutton marketing'. Automation is a process that helps eliminate what would be additional manual steps to produce a result (menial tasks). In that, 'automated marketing' would apply especially to Veretekk. Integrated Marketing takes it further in that a central system (database) is incorporated into all the different marketing tools and processes.

But this article is about symbiotic marketing.

With the reality of a central relational database firmly in the core of Veretekk and all that means as far as Integrated Marketing is:

You may have taken stock while creating your business plan on all of the essential tools that you will need to use to run your internet marketing business online. The trick is how to make all the various applications work together.

One of the sanest and most efficient 'concepts' on earth is the 'relational database' - What it means is having everything in one place and entering data only once, and having it all relate in an easy-to-navigate interface. For example, the key piece of data in the relationship is the person's name. Every other piece of information that we have regarding this name should be in one place.

Examples of data that would be related to this name are his contact information, such as email address, phone, etc.; then you have your notes about your contacts with this person - what date you talked to him, what are his interests, what business he is in; the date you will follow-up. We might also have a record of which emails we have sent him so that we do not send duplicate messages and/or that we know the next message in the series to send him and when the appropriate time to send is. Naturally the only way to do this is to have an autoresponder. (VereMail)

Hopefully what follows is what the programs or products this person has purchased from you are and at what level - that is what upgrades or etc. would be appropriate for him in the future - and again a date where we will follow-up with him to see how he is doing.

Very few organizations including the largest seem to understand the power a relational database has and instead seem to have fragments that must be constantly manually updated and require duplication of efforts to keep everything organized.

Oh, but the real nightmare here is if you are using different software for each function, there is a point where your versions will no longer 'talk to each other'. Literally you will be copying and pasting databases across platforms or manually re-entering data to keep it all up to date and in one place.

Next consider your marketing efforts - another nightmare to control and navigate. Where are all the places you posted your articles? Links? Ads? Did you sign up for that Social Network? Which ones? How about the Web2.0 postings? Did you do everything you needed to do today? Yesterday? This week? Keep track of all your Internet 'real estate'and activities - and again, all in one place. Where multiple applications are used for various aspects of your business, it can be another job in itself to keep everything organized - or conversely to be in constant chaos. These services are necessary to move into a symbiotic marketing system. The challenge has been getting a group together to all work as a team, (whereas doing this in an office back in them old days it worked), today with everything virtual, working remotely, working from home, where an organization is more likely separated by time zones, borders even oceans, something a bit more targeted to solve the requirement of cohesion to put the group together is appropriate.

Several years ago I made a serious attempt to create a symbiotic marketing group for my core business (Trivita) where we had a growing group all focused on building the same opportunity. I delegated different responsibilities to the group. We all focused on getting our target site traffic.

One person was working a click share program, another was writing articles and posting them to the Veretekk system, another called the leads and others manned the conference room. SEO teams went to work building top search engine results. A few of the leaders delegated out the signups 3 under 3 and so it went and it grew and we broke records. This entire campaign is what inspired the building of the original Platinum Control Panel, now known as the Market Center.

However the entire group eventually fell apart. Veretekk wasn't really ready. There was no V2 then, actually this campaign inspired V2 as well. But there was no cohesion, there was no way to measure the process, there was no way to hold it all together. Eventually many were disappointed because the system failed to grow down into the group. Basically after a successful start it died.

V2 launched and it is like merging FaceBook with a fully armed portfolio of all the marketing tools you can imagine with the entire thing integrated; And V2 is evolving and I like it.

Just recently Mike Darling launched several new features that are bringing us closer to the symbiotic realty I have dreamed about for years. First the V2 Groups that allow you to create a group of your friends into an interactive dedicated system in your dashboards. Integrated with this is the Reminder and alert system that informs you of certain actions you need to take or actions others have taken you need to be aware of.

The new Friends Groups like my group "Bull Pen" are now stand alone pages that have links to them so you can actually promote your groups outside of V2. Another powerful feature leading us into Symbiosis is the recent integration of the Conference room into your Group wall.

You do know that your Veretekk Gold account includes a 5 seat (upgradeable) web conference room right? By now you have discovered the new paradigm shift with Veretekk putting on Web Conference Seminars. This will become a standard within Veretekk, reaching out to the masses on the Internet and making available our wisdom and experience from our own perspectives which is exactly how it is for all of us. We all have our own unique way of seeing things.

This is a good thing to get different perspectives form others especially in these conferences. Who knows, eventually you will be hosting these web conferences yourself. I have seen these rooms fill up with up to a thousand people hungry for knowledge and I have seen other rooms filled to capacity 24 hours a day as a social seen. Go figure.

The Internet is a massive experiment in action. To be successful you have to stay engaged with it and realize the learning curve is infinite and exponential. So in that spirit lets get on with it.

To compliment the seminars I am now producing "WorkShops". Unlike the seminars, workshops are focused on a set of steps to learn a skill from a particular function within the system, Workshops are 1 hour long. The first 30 minutes are the lessons and the last 30 minutes are for questions and answers and over view and demonstrations, etc.

You are hearing a lot about integration within Veretekk especially with the launch of V2. But most people do not fully grasp the term and how it plays in V2. Let me try to illustrate this powerful aspect of V2.

A note about my background and experience: I started into Marketing at a very young age. In a thumbnail, I was born to be an artist. My parents were horrified about this claiming that artist starve to death. This freaked me out. So I bought many books on marketing art and marketing in general. One of those books, "Confessions of an Advertising Man", by David Ogilvy I purchased in 1980. That book changed my life. In 1984 Soon after I acquired my first computer and the quest to merge was on.

I coined the term back in the 90s as Data Base Marketing, but today, with the advent of a progressing Internet, and related technologies, what was a tactical or strategic action in the 80s today is represented by a digital counterpart.

Today's Internet Marketer is by far a lot less qualified to be in marketing than his counterpart 20 years ago. Today one can just claim to be an SEO master or an Internet Marketer simply because the information to discover the basics and intricacies to do so are at everyone's fingertips. This does not diminish the effectiveness of today's marketer over the marketing agency of 20 years ago, it just establishes that things have changed on a massive scale.

20 years ago it took a Marketing Department to accomplish what most Internet marketers set upon themselves to do today on their own. (This is why so many fail and/or have a chronic case of ADD; Attention Deficit Disorder). NOTE: "I suffer from this myself"

The marketing tools of the Internet, the ability to measure results, the ability to research on the Internet is a dream come true to a seasoned and long time experienced ad man as myself. But it also brings with it a serious risk potential and that is the undertaking of keeping track of and updating each of the aspects that compromise Internet Marketing today.

Back before the Internet an ad agency had many people for each respective responsibility, one department for sending direct mail, another for tradeshows and conferences and yet another for display advertising and printed material, press releases, radio ads, conventions, etc.....

This is why the majority of Internet marketers are tactical (focused mostly on one aspect like SEO) instead of being strategic, having a full focus of research, analysis, multifaceted campaigns using all the tools required for full scale Internet marketing, keeping it organized and processing the constant information caused by such a campaign.

Tools ie:

  • Hosting for domains and websites

  • Auto responders email for follow-up communications

  • Web Conference Rooms for live meetings, educational seminars, training connecting.

  • SEO systems, back links, authority sites, forums, blogs, etc.

  • Display advertising

  • A social networking system and management

  • Lead generating systems or resources for a steady inventory of leads.

  • Contact data management system, calendars, reminders component.
The need to integrate all these aspects is paramount otherwise the marketing campaign is limited to a tactical approach, with poor management and even worse results. IE: hit and miss attempts, scattered approaches caused by lack of a solid strategy, impulsively running from one idea to another, the results are mediocre at best and worse, forgetting what was done in the past as this method also lacks tracking the posts, ads, and tactics, etc. used.

I have seen competent SEO marketers run from one domain to another, buying more domains and creating sites just for posting more content on pointing to other sites pointing to other sites creating a mass of gibberish that at best might increase an Alexa ranking to some degree but never really amounting to anything but time wasted.

This same phenomena can be seen with many people on the Internet running from one business idea or opportunity to the other. With no clear-cut objective, this is why most Internet marketers fail.

When you integrate the entire process, from research analysis (keeping track of that), keyword analysis, targeted content, pre written letters ready for your sequential mail auto responders, team building with a symbiotic group, videos and audio animations and screen captured demos, capture pages (tested with your group in our Bull Pen: focus groups increase the overall effectiveness of design and strategy), blogging and other partners in your group blogging on your behalf, back linking strategies and keeping track of the thousands of authority site memberships for additional effect, ratings with Google Page ranks and Alexa ranks and tracking that, traffic tracking, running display ads and managing that, running Google adsense ads, Facebook Ads etc and tracking, radio ads and cableTV ads. Whew!

All of this seems very overwhelming to accomplish 'on your own'. However the very core of Veretekk and it's services and benefits allows you to run full throttle professional campaigns like this without resorting to hiring an agency to do it, or having a dozen or so unrelated services in an attempt to run something akin to this on your own

This level of marketing is what you will see from top income earners and the very successful among the halls of the top ranked members of Internet Marketing. This is the "why" for why we built Veretekk.

This campaign launches within weeks. This is literally just the beginning. V2 is going to explode.

But wait there is another angle to this campaign. Those members in our V2 Bull Pen will be an integral part to another aspect of this campaign. As you know repeated exposure in marketing seriously increases response. We are going to co-op this campaign with many of our Bull Pen members with a series of different marketing emails so this emailing occurs daily across these services databases over a period of 30 days exposure.

5. All about Marketing
The Brick and Mortar Bull Pen

Did you know almost all successful marketing campaigns start out in the Bull Pen? Do you know what a Bull Pen is? I do, because I used to own an ad agency. I am sure many of you reading this are somewhat new to or mystified by the real marketing process. It is not sending or post ad messages to buy your product or service or join your latest get rich quick program. But from where I sit, that is what most self proclaimed Internet marketers do.

All professional ad/marketing and product/software development comes from the Bull Pen. A Bull Pen is comprised of a group of people from a wide spectrum of levels and profession/education into a conference room. The common thread is these people are a loose nit group that is somewhat familiar with the product/service being discussed.

Our Bull Pen had the account executive(s) for the client, the marketing Director, the Art Director, maybe a few designers, even the receptionist and the shop manager included. We would start out by identifying the obvious objective. We need to establish sales, increase sales or establish branding for this product/service/software etc.

The entire group has equal input and is usually directed by a leader. They can last for hours or be especially dynamic and the concept is identified within minutes. This is how we identify keywords, markets and campaign concepts. It establishes a place to begin. It gets everyone looking at the project from the outside in.

At times after several potential concepts are established we would make up several illustrated story boards or reports and then hire a small unrelated focus group that fit the demographics of the targeted market group we felt was effective then get their objective reaction to several of our potentially targeted campaigns.

This would help us get a really good perspective of a solid campaign. Then the marketing and creative team would go to work creating a much more developed presentation for the proposed marketing strategy based on intensive research and development of a final draft.

Again we would convene the Bull Pen members and hash out again. This process almost always gave us excellent direction, kept us honest to the strategy and produced measurable results.
