MLM companies have a blinkered view of web site marketing strategies in that their only marketing strategy is to buy and call leads. It doesn't matter whether the leads are specific to ITV Ventures leads, Xango leads, Xooma leads, Coastal leads, PrePaid Legal leads or any other MLM company , the marketing strategy is the same buy leads and then call 100 of those leads and get 2 or 3 new distributors.
Calling leads is doomed to fail in 97% of the calls. It is no wonder that people new to the MLM industry get discouraged and give up.
Yet in every MLM company with only two exceptions that I am aware of, the web site marketing strategies are exactly the same. There has been virtually no change or innovation in 50 years. The purchase of leads flourishes on the internet but so many of the leads are dubious at best. That and a lack of telephone skills by many MLMers is why the conversion rate from buying leads is only about 3%.

MLM companies are notorious for offering people hope of residual income. Get three who get three etc etc and you will be able to retire to the Gold Coast or quit your job or buy your million dollar house. These are the dreams promised by so many MLM companies.
The reality is that it just does not happen for many people who join these MLM companies
Why?
MLM companies talk about duplication. It is so simple get your distributors to duplicate what you are doing and your business will grow. The trouble is that duplication is a myth and rarely happens. But the MLM companies continue to promote this duplication. Every new distributor is given a duplicate web site. The web site marketing stratgies for most MLM web sites is to buy leads.
Dumb and dumber.
Most people who buy leads do not even call them. They may call a few if you are lucky and receive negative feedback which is a euphemism for P.O.Q. After a few calls that is it for most new MLMers. There are a few diehards who do call the 100 leads and actually may get two or three distributors. A great investment in time and personal thickening of the skin.
What has been the return on investment? Difficult to say. Only time will tell. For some about 5% it is a great investment. For everyone else 95% it is a great big hole in the wall for their investment.
At an average (just a made up average because some leads can cost up to $25 and more) cost per lead of $3. That totals 100 x $3 =$300 with 3 distributors. That is cost per distributor $100. This does not include telephone charges or the time factor.

That is 3 out of 100 Xango leads will join you in the Xango business. 3% is the average so if you are a new distributor you may not even experience that 3% success rate.
When you buy customers they are in your business immediately.
